How to Cleanse Your Crystal
Crystals store energy and because of this, cleansing your Crystal is paramount to cancel out any previous energies or intentions set upon them prior to coming into your possession.
Smudging
Smudging is an ancient technique often used to rid a space of negative unwanted energy and is the most popular method for cleansing Crystals as all Crystal types may be cleansed in this way without any harm to the Crystal. Anyone familiar with smudging knows how effective this method is in completely transforming the vibe of any room to one of total balance, peace and positivity. The smoke of Sage, Sweetgrass, Lavender, Palo Santo, Copal or Frankincense may be used. These sacred herbs and incenses are renown for clearing negative energies, purification and connecting to other realms and dimensions.
Crystals hold information and are programmable, therefore intentions ought to be set into the Crystal stone
Make a quiet space. Next, open your window so the negative energy has exit points. Now take a few deep breaths and set the intention either mentally or spoken out. You may for instance, set the intention to clear all previous intentions and energies your Crystal may have previously encountered if your Crystal is new or the unwanted energy your Crystal may have soaked up since the last cleanse. Light the Incense so smoke is released and hold the Crystal stone between your thumb and fingers or place in a sieve. Now allow the smoke to engulf and surround the Crystal completely for at least 20 seconds. Now thank your Crystal as though it has already happened. Repeat this once a Month or as often as you feel especially if you use them for Reiki, Chakra and Light work. This method may be used to cleanse Crystals of all types.
Moon Energy
Full moons may be used for the releasing of collected negative energies and new moons for growth of new positive energies. Just place your Crystals on the window sill or out in your garden overnight for a full charge. This method may also be used for all types of Crystal gems. Repeat this once a Month or as often as you feel especially if you use them for Reiki, Chakra and Light work. Lunar and Solar Eclipse may be also used for endings and for beginning new chapters.

Salt Water
Salt water may be used to release all the built-up negative energies collected. If your Crystals are fortunate enough to reside by the coast sea water may be used or otherwise natural salt may be added to a bowl of water to restore and re-energise your Crystals. Just submerge your Crystal into the salt water solution and leave to soak for a few hours or even a day and then take them out to pat them dry. Take note that this Crystal cleansing method is not suitable for all types of Crystals. Porous Crystals like Selenite, Angelite, Lepidolite and Malachite, should not be cleaned in this way. Keep them away from water, rain, baths, shower rooms, sauna’s and steam rooms as they dissolve when wet. Repeat this once a Month or as often as you feel especially if you use them for Reiki, Chakra and Light work.

Selenite
The use of Selenite to cleanse your Crystals is another great way of clearing out the negative vibes your Crystals have absorbed. Burying in the Earth
For those who are aware of the great benefits of walking bare feet on the earth will be well familiar with the power of grounding and this would have similar affect for your Crystals. Grounding your Crystals in the soil is a sure way of removing unwanted negative energy. This is particularly if your Crystal has been involved with heavy light-energy work, scrying or after ceremonial and ritual practices.
Choose a favourite spot in your garden, sacred energy point or under a tree that’s particularly special to you. Now bury the Crystals in the soil a few inches deep for 1 to 3 days. Repeat this once a Month or as often as you feel especially if you use them for Reiki, Chakra and Light work.
